Primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common disease in China, which seriously affects people's health. Popularization of related health knowledge is an important measure to reduce the incidence of liver cancer and improve the curative effect. In this paper the recent research progress, the prevention and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma are summarized as the following five aspects, in order to simple, easy to understand and easy to remember.

A basic concept

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) occurs mainly in a relatively specific population, which is called the high risk group of liver cancer in medicine, and the risk of liver cancer is very low in non high risk group. This feature provides a shortcut and convenience for the prevention and treatment of liver cancer.

In China, the high risk of liver cancer patients, including hepatitis B and hepatitis C patients with cirrhosis, 40 years of age or more men, or a family history of liver cancer, the risk of liver cancer is greater, should be vigilant. Patients with cirrhosis caused by non viral hepatitis are also at high risk of liver cancer, but the risk is much lower than that of viral hepatitis.

Two central ideas

High risk of liver cancer should firmly establish two concepts: active prevention and early diagnosis. Active prevention is to let the liver "to do the best!" That is the early diagnosis of liver cancer killed in the "infant", "to also not afraid!".

Liver cancer is preventable. The main measures include: to reduce viral hepatitis, alcoholic hepatitis incidence, reduce the high-risk population of hepatocellular carcinoma, the positive treatment of viral hepatitis and other liver diseases based, to the greatest extent possible to prevent or alleviate the progression of liver fibrosis, and away from the water pollution and bad food and other environmental factors, to maintain a healthy state of mind.

Early diagnosis is the key to improve the curative effect of liver cancer. Clinical practice shows that the small hepatocellular carcinoma (less than 3 cm in diameter) with "a world of difference and curative effect of advanced liver cancer". Middle and advanced liver cancer, usually associated with liver metastasis of unresectable, for the liver has become taboo, interventional therapy, drug therapy is "beyond strength and power" to be effective. Even if can operation in the case, but also risking "high mortality rate, high incidence of complications" risk, "five off, killing six, can change danger into safety. However, the situation of small hepatocellular carcinoma is another picture, unless the location of the special, no more difficult on the treatment, such as the ability to regulate and systemic treatment, 5 year survival rate of more than 90%, many patients can survive for a long time.

Three screening measures

The most important measure of early diagnosis is to carry out scientific and effective screening for the high risk group of liver cancer. There were three main measures: liver function, alpha fetoprotein and liver ultrasound. The screening frequency was once every 3-6 months. When alpha fetoprotein was elevated or ultrasound showed hepatic occupying lesions, CT, MRI, or angiography should be further examined and followed up until complete exclusion of hcc.

Four types of treatment

Liver cancer treatment can be divided into four categories: surgical treatment, including liver resection and liver transplantation; local treatment, including radiofrequency ablation and ethanol injection; the interventional treatment; the drug treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, gene therapy, Chinese medicine treatment of flowers.

1 surgical treatment: in some extent, surgical treatment is more thorough treatment, but the trauma, high cost, for the background of liver cirrhosis is heavy, with limited economic conditions, is not an ideal choice. Liver transplantation is limited by donor liver, the cost is huge, and the need for life-long treatment, only a few patients benefit.

2 local treatment: radiofrequency ablation is the representative of local treatment for liver cancer, is a famous three large hepatocellular carcinoma in liver resection and liver transplantation to cure one of the means of. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is the first choice for treatment of small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which is characterized by its curative effect, small trauma, short hospital stay and low cost.

3 interventional embolization: a good therapeutic effect on liver cancer, but its efficacy is restricted by the tumor blood supply, it is often difficult to completely kill the cancer cells, and no obvious therapeutic effects on liver tissue around the cancer foci of potential lesions, not as the only way to the treatment of liver cancer. Because of the small arterial blood supply of small hepatocellular carcinoma, it can not be applied to small hepatocellular carcinoma.

4 drug treatment: often used as adjuvant treatment, the application of limited efficacy alone.

Five year survival goal

Liver cancer was the king of cancer, five years of survival, was a friend of the liver cancer patients luxury dream!

At present, this dream is not difficult to achieve. As long as there is a clear liver cancer high-risk population self positioning, to regular screening, "not to mind taking the trouble" in early diagnosis of liver cancer is no longer difficult, "the minimally invasive treatment of liver cancer age" will easily point the day and await for it to live five years, "the goal is not difficult to achieve, long-term survivors will no longer rare.

Remember the "12345", liver cancer will no longer be a stumbling block on the road of life in patients with liver disease!
