[Abstract] there is no consistent research report about whether allergic rhinitis can cause adenoid hypertrophy. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between allergic rhinitis and adenoid hypertrophy, and to explore the reliability of nasal endoscopic examination and history experience in the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis.

[Methods]: a total of 155 children with lzmir Behcet Uz children's Hospital from January 2013 to September 2013 were enrolled in this study.

[results]: in all cases, there are 101 children with positive skin prick test. 76 children with a variety of allergens positive. The doctor can be diagnosed as allergic rhinitis by the history of nasal itching and sneezing. As for the local signs of nasal cavity, only found that increased nasal secretions of allergic rhinitis has diagnostic value. Adenoid hypertrophy was significantly negatively correlated with allergic rhinitis.

[Conclusion] the results showed that adenoid hypertrophy was negatively correlated with allergic rhinitis. For allergic rhinitis can be based on nasal secretions, nasal itching, sneezing, these typical characteristics of the diagnosis.
